Despite being down in numbers due to suspensions, manager Kevin Hill filled the gaps with the loan signings of Jack Haverson (left) and Mark E'Bayer (right) for this Nationwide South clash with Sutton United at Church Road, sadly things did not go to plan and another very poor performance led to a third consecutive home defeat that has seen us score a mighty NIL and concede TEN.
The first chances actually fell to the home side as Kieran Knight latched onto a Liam Feeney pass only for his shot to deflect inches wide of Phil Wilson's goal and the same man then got the final touch after Haverson had won a Feeney corner but sadly Knight was too close to goal and his touch took the ball over the crossbar.
Then with almost half an hour played the visitors created their first decent opening and "BANG" we were behind and playing catch up yet again. A throw on the right was played to Matt Gray and his perfect centre was met by Tony Quinton who planted a header beyond Keita Karamoko and into the far corner.

Within a minute we could have been level however, Knight beat Wilson to the ball but drifted wide, his centre found debutant E'Bayer but a well timed tackle from Ryan Palmer denied the Hayes man a shot on goal.
Seven minutes from the break we found ourselves even further in arrears, Ross Gaynor played the ball into the middle of the park where Warren McBean took control by sidestepping two challenges before curling an absolute gem of a shot into the top corner for probably the best goal scored at Church Road so far this season.

Again we almost scored within a minute, a long ball forwards put makeshift left-back Bashiru Alimi under pressure as Daniel Dyer closed in, Alimi managed to head the ball past the on-coming Wilson but was alert enough to follow it and head it wide of his own goal for a corner before Dyer could net.
The opening ten minutes of the second period not only could have seen as pull the game back but we could even have gone ahead as chance after chance went begging in front on the Sutton goal. Ryan Ashe picked up the ball inside his own half before sending Dyer down the right side, his cross was met by Knight who could only head straight at Wilson. Within a minute Knight himself surged into the area and laid the ball across to an unmarked Feeney who managed to fire high and wide with just a poorly positioned Wilson to beat and minutes later Michael Bartley shrugged off his marker before firing wildly across goal and wide.

Still chances were being missed by the Missioners as opposed
to being kept out by the Sutton back line, Bartley saw the ball taken off his head by former Missioner Richard Harris before Ashe planted a perfect cross to Bartley who headed a good four yards wide with the goal gaping and Wilson static.
Gaynor then tested Karamoko with a twenty yard effort that the keeper just had to palm down before he was beaten again less than a minute later. Gray planted a free-kick into the box that appeared to hit Gilbert Nuako before falling to McBean who moved it to one side and planted it into the corner as the defence stood motionless.
A couple of minutes from the end we tried to test Wilson with a Knight shot only to see Bartley inadvertently block it for Sutton and then the U's rubbed salt in the wounds with a fourth in stoppage time. Gaynor had been allowed to waltz along the byeline unchallenged before firing across goal before a corner dropped nicely to John Scarborough and he fired home with all the time in the world.
