Hayes reserves were again on their travels, this time
to Sussex and a visit to Three Bridges who have had a poor start
to this seasons campaign.
Hayes were again slow starters and like last Saturday at
Carshalton were not at the races in the first half. We were in fact lucky to only go in at the interval a single goal adrift. The best chance being squandered from close
range by Adam Cornell.
The second half saw an improved performance with Hayes
well on top and Three Bridges on the back foot. The Missioners second string
were rewarded for their attacking play 12 minutes after
the re-start when a cross from the right by Rhys Price
was met by the lively Miles Jones and he finished with
a header from close range, celebrated in usual somersault style.
Adam
Cornell hit the foot of the post just five minutes later as Hayes
continued to pressure the home sides defence, unfortunately as hard as they tried the
winner could not be found and like the First team 2
points were lost.
